Maspalomas Overview - Gran Canaria

Maspalomas is often referred to as the “Costa Canaria”, as much of the Maspalomas resort consists of beach resort such as as Águila, Las Burras, San Agustín and Playa del Ingles. In Maspalomas you will find over 17 miles of stunning coastline, with breathtaking sandy dunes, sheltered coves and lavish beach front property. With over 330 days of beautiful sunshine each year it is truly a tropical paradise.

There are a number of up market resorts in Maspalomas that feature wonderful hotels, luxury homes and PGA rated golf courses. Maspalomas is separated from playa del ingles by a 400 hectares stretch of natural sand dunes that have been declared a protected are by the government. Within the area there area segregated sections that are allocated to nudists and gays, so don’t be surprised if you see some naked guys, while strolling through the dunes. If you like the idea of sightseeing, why not visit the “Faro de Maspalomas”. The “Faro de Maspalomas” is an old lighthouse that was built in 1886 and is a dominating sight on the Maspalomas coastline. Its stands over 65 meters tall and is still active as a fully functional lighthouse.
