Santa Cruz Overview - Tenerife
Santa Cruz is the administrative centre of the western Canary Islands and is the capital if Tenerife. Santa Cruz is located in the north eastern tip of Tenerife and is built around the international shipping port. The port of Santa Cruz is one of the busiest in Europe and is a central point for imports and exports for the Canary Islands. The colossal harbor moors many container ships, cruise liners and cross channel shuttle ferries.
Santa Cruz is located in a large natural bay that has the Anga Mountains as the scenic backdrop. The city has very little interest for tourists, as there are very little opportunities for sightseeing or adventure. There is however a shopping district that offers a large number of shops like el Corte ingles and Marks & Spencers.
