Current Property Market in Gran Canaria

The main tourist area of Gran Canaria stretches from San Agustin to Puerto Mogan in the south east of the island, and the main overseas property market is centred here. It is popular with all kinds of buyers – those wishing to invest in holiday properties or for people wanting to make a new life in the sun in spectacular style. There is everything for everyone from studio apartments to cliff top villas to mountain fincas.The prices found on the island depends on the proximity to the tourist areas or to the capital Las Palmas – the nearer you are the higher the prices – but there are still many affordable places on this prospering island. The main tourist towns of Playa del Ingles and Puerto Rico are the most well known, however many new developments along the coast to the north have made the market extremely buoyant and flexible.

Townhouses for sale in Gran Canaria

There are many types of townhouse on offer and we can show a great selection in several differing areas. The duplexes in Anfi Tauro, a very famous and popular new area range from €420,000 but in Castillo de Romeral there are exquisite family homes from €202,000. In the southern residential area of Arguineguin there are smaller townhouses from €198,000.

The apartments we have within 5 minutes of the Yumbo Centre in Playa del Ingles are probably the hottest properties we have got, ranging upwards from €89,000 and they don’t stay around too long. As our profile rose the portfolio grew to include residential as well as the holiday let and investment apartments close to the beaches, on luxury complexes, with gardens and pools. San Agustin, Playa del Ingles, Arguineguin, Puerto Rico, Amadores, Playa del Cura and Puerto Mogan all offer this extensive range from studio to 3 and 4 beds and we even have a 5 bed private floor on Las Canteras beach in Las Palmas.

Fincas for sale in Gran Canaria

The island was famous for its agriculture and so there are a number of fincas or small farms coming on to the market regularly. There are small plots with run down buildings or pretty haciendas in remote areas, with prices from €126,000 in Temisas to €280,000 in Pasadilla with views of most of Gran Canaria. There are commercial properties too, but these are not usually sold in the real estate field, but we do have 22,000 sqm in Tejeda and a partly finished, beautiful property for example – at €316,000. So they are here and we specialize in finding them to suit most needs.

Plots of Land for sale in Gran Canaria

If there was a premium product in the real estate world then plots on Gran Canaria would be listed there. They are very difficult to come by and just as expensive. Planning issues are varied and often troublesome, but we have excellent advisers and can assist in most project work. The provision of services can also be a traumatic time but it can double or treble the value of an already costly parcela if handled well. Plots range from €100,000 to €1 million to €28 million.

New Developments in Gran Canaria

There are very few new developments in the south of the island that are not tied to hotel or resort chains, but we have been able to secure some excellent opportunities. We have the Anfi Tauro devlopment with golf course, marina, clinics, beaches, etc etc., with off-plan or resales available. In Las Palmas we have another resort on the new city golf course above Las Canteras beach and in Puerto Rico a residential unit with top quality build specification and a starting price of  €230,000 for a 2 bed apartment. For those with an eye for a good price and a desire to live within the Canarian community, there are some beautiful duplexes being developed in Vecindario now. As with many issues – hard to find sometimes, but when you do find them there are great benefits.
